Q: I need customization or templates in my EHR/EMR. Can you help?
A:

Unfortunately, no. Any specialized customization, template, and support requests inside your EHR/EMR software should be directed towards the EHR/EMR company. We are not specialty consultants. We are "IT" consultants who works with you and the EHR/EMR company to get your EHR/EMR installed and running.

Though we often contact the software maker on behalf of our clients, generally, once your EHR/EMR software is up and running, any specific support you need within the EHR/EMR will be provided by the EHR/EMR company. Support is usually included when you purchase the EHR/EMR software.

Q: Do you provide support for home users (consumers)?
A:

No. We do not. Although we help clients with their personal IT issues, we provide support to businesses exclusively.

Q: What does KC stands for in your name?
A:

KC stands for Kansas City where our company was founded.

Q: What is it like to work with you?
A:

There is an abundance of choice when it comes to selecting an IT consultant. What makes us uniquely different is,

1. Ethics
We will not promote our partners' product if we deem is not the best fit for you. "Good enough" will not do. The solution we select will be the best.

2. Talent
We will not recommend a solution we don't know enough about. We will fix issues for good, even if that means you do not call us for the next 3 years.

3. Dependability
We do not prioritize among clients. Whether your business is big or small, we do not schedule our availability based on your account size. Therefore, you get the same quick response expected by all our clients.

If you read our company history, you will see that we are a group of IT consultants dissatisfied with such practices common in the IT consulting industry.

Q: Do you offer service contracts?
A:

No. We do not, as we believe that computers and networks do not break down fixed number of hours every month. Even with a carry over type of service plan, for most of our clients, service calls get spaced out for months or even years. Who would use an IT firm as a savings account? If your systems are breaking down and requiring service monthly, you might want a second opinion with a different IT firm.

Q: What is your hourly rate?
A:

As the difficulty level and experience required for every task and every IT specialization is different, we would not be able to give you a fixed rate without knowing what is involved. Generally, it could be any where from $95/hour to $250/hour.

Q: How do you charge? Hourly, daily, or per project?
A:

Since we cover a full range of clients and industries, we have no set form of charging method. Generally, for small and medium clients who only need our help on occasion, we tend to charge hourly or daily.

For web development, EHR, and EMR projects, we tend to charge per project as there usually is a specific completion target. After completion, we may switch to the agreed upon hourly rate for additional future support. Nonetheless, any and all the consideration is based on what is best "for the client."

Q: Is there any catch to your free consultation offer?
A:

With so many IT consulting companies offering free consultation, you might be wondering "what's the catch?" Time limit, conditions (free only if you hire us after), etc? Well, no. There are absolutely no conditions of any kind. Why not? Because, we believe that, instead of worrying if your 30 minute is up, we should both be worrying about understanding your problem fully. So, please be prepared to anwser lots of questions.

We want to help you even if you do not happen to hire us after. We cannot do that fully if we are both worried about the clock. That's our value and conviction at KC Consulting Group Inc., ingrained since day one. That's what makes us different from the other countless IT consulting firms. Besides, projects that we handle are frequently complex in nature and there is no way we can discuss all aspects of your need in 30 minutes or even an hour. Some even require onsite visit to see the set-up.

Q: What sort of payment methods do you accept?
A:

We accept major credit cards, personal & business checks, and money order. For long-term clients, we offer flexible options.

Q: Do I need an advance for a new project?
A:

The advance necessary is determined on a case by case basis. For instance, for a client referred to and recommended by an existing client, the advance might be unnecessary or substantially less than a new client without an introduction.
